Well, we have a variety of videos from a variety of places this week, including one from Streetsblog LA that was posted last Friday after the “Week in Short Video.” Let’s get to it.
Last Friday – Streetsblog Los Angeles puts out the first of a two-part series showing how and why Los Angeles is resurfacing the wrong streets. In an effort to avoid following new laws requiring installing bus/bike/accessibility upgrades on certain streets, the city has started mostly resurfacing streets that don’t have sidewalks.
Tuesday – In part 2, Joe shows us how to use the city’s website to prove his point from the last video…the city is resurfacing streets that are in good repair, while ignoring the ones that aren’t.
Wednesday – At Streetsblog USA, Ren explains why bigger cars are deadlier than smaller ones. Yes, the weight. Obviously. But there’s other reasons including more limited visibility and the design of heavier vehicles.
Thursday – KC welcomes everyone to the newly launched Streetsblog San Diego.
Today – In San Francisco, Roger demonstrates the silliness of Muni rail’s bike ban by showing you can take your bike on a train…when it’s disassembled and in a box.
Special thanks to the Caltrain BikeHub, the safe and convenient way to park your bike while you commute.
